• King Abdullah Visits the Eastern Province Today

    The Eastern Province is honored to welcome King Abdullah ibn Abdul-Azeez who will be arriving this afternoon where His Royal Highness will meet with some of the citizens of the region at Al-Khaleej Palace in Dammam. On Monday he will chair a meeting of the Council of Ministers in Dammam and then attend the opening ceremony for Royal Commission for the Development of Jubail and Yanbu where he will lay the foundation stone for the development project. More than 72 million Saudi Riyals has been invested in the project. King Abdullah will also meet with Prince Muhammad ibn Fahad ibn Abdul-Azeez, the Governor of the Eastern Province, to affirm his committment to the development of the region and to be appraised of any needs that the citizens of the region may have. The King will also observe the progress that has already been achieved through development projects in the region. The tradition of Royal visits to every region of the Kingdom to appraise the condition of all citizens was first established by King Abdul-Azeez, the founder of the nation, and the tradition was continued by his sons Kings Saud, Faisal, Khalid, and Fahad. The tradition continues to be followed by King Abdullah - may Allah protect and preserve him.
